A Birthday Celebration

Last night Nancy and I headed out to a neighborhood restaurant called "Chef's Table". They advertise an "eclectic collection of international dishes...reminiscent of the tapas bars of Spain." They refer to their entrees as "tapas", which are served in smaller portions than the typical entree. We selected 3 tapas, soup, some side vegetables, and a yummy dessert. The presentation involved placing the tapas on the table in little bowls and dishes from which we essentially served ourselves. An interesting and quite good meal.

Ah, but the reason for going out on this particular evening was all about Nancy. It was her birthday, and we celebrated with dinner and a movie. OK, the movie was rented and viewed in the comfort of our own home. But that still counts, doesn't it? Dessert was a chocolate rum cake, and we decided to make that Nancy's birthday cake. Before digging in, we asked the waiter to take the picture above. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY.

We didn't get a chance to post a picture last week because Nancy and I were in Orlando at Disney World with Mark, Jenny, Jackson, and John Michael. We have plenty of nice pictures and will post a few next week.
