While our son Mark and daughter-in-law Jenny were in Hawaii earlier this month, Nancy and I played close-up and personal grandparents to Jackson and John Michael. Since both kids had school to attend, we stayed in Birmingham at their home. We, of course, had a great time. However, getting up at the crack of dawn did take some getting used to.

We had a Super Bowl party and a Mardi Gras celebration. Nancy and the kids decorated the house with crepe paper and balloons, which we left in place until the parents returned home. The picture above was taken by Nancy on Fat Tuesday at bedtime. They don't look too bad for being on a sugar high!
