On Tuesday we received word that our nephew Kirk had passed away earlier that morning. Kirk was the son of Nancy's sister Elaine and her husband Karl and with his wife Shannon and children Jack, Ethan, and Skylar lived in Gaylord, Michigan. His death resulted from complications after a liver transplant. He was 48 years old, a graduate of Alma College and Ohio Northern University law school, and a practicing lawyer in Michigan.

Nancy and I have seen our nephew only a few times in the last 2 dozen years or so. The picture above of Kirk and his wife Shannon was taken in happier times.
