Nancy's Hydrangea

In last week's post I mentioned our hydrangea peaking around the corner of the house. Here's a somewhat better picture of Nancy's favorite plant.

We first planted this hydrangea on the south side of the house, but it didn't thrive as expected. In fact, it almost died. So we transplanted it to the north side of the house, where you see it now, and it grew like a weed. Nancy trimmed it in the Fall one year and the following year it refused to bloom. It hasn't been trimmed since then and, as a result, it has treated us to a full bloom each year. So now we're trying to figure out how we can trim it and still count on it blooming the following year. It is getting rather large.
