One Year Ago

One year ago yesterday, Nancy returned home from her 7-week hospital stay. This is the picture I took last year as she first set foot into our home. Since that day she has worked hard to recover from an accident that left her only able move her left arm and hand. So where is she today? She now walks with a cane, but she still uses that chair lift to go DOWN the steps into the garage. I don't think she would use the chair lift at all if there was a railing on the left side of the steps. She washes the clothes and helps with meal preparation. She drives the car, visits her friends, and attends Weight Watcher meetings. I still stand outside the shower, but she does most of that herself. There are still some things that she'd really like to do without my help, but I think that will happen in time.
