Ordinary Days

About the most exciting thing that happened this week was our late lunch at Logan's Roadhouse yesterday afternoon. While Nancy enjoyed her salmon and steamed broccoli, I had my usual grilled meatloaf. As for the rest of the week, I played bridge once, ate lunch with a bunch of fellow TBE retirees, and tried to pick up on the college baseball and softball tournaments. See? Ordinary days.

As for Nancy, it was her turn this Thursday to host the ladies from her stitching group. That went well. Everyone liked her dessert. We did go shopping a couple times. She bought a shirt and a vest. Her recovery is coming along slowly. Over the past couple of weeks she has started walking short distances around the house without her cane. However, she still relies on the cane to get around, especially outside the house.

The only un-ordinary thing is the duffle bag pictured above. My academy classmates organized a reunion in New Orleans for this past April, which we planned to attend. We had to cancel at the last minute because we didn't think we could make the trip for several different reasons. To my surprise, the reunion organizers not only returned most of the money that I had given them for tours, dinners, and such, they sent me the duffle bag pictured above. I'm guessing that one was given to each of the attendees. Nice.
