Sometime Thursday afternoon our router took an early vacation; apparently a permanent vacation. After several hours of testing, I determined that the power amplifier had given out. So we swung by Staples on our way to a piano concert last night and picked up the Netgear router pictured above. It didn't install as easily as the instructions implied, but I got the network up and running this morning. Then I had to run around the house to set up all the things that were connected to the network. That's a surprising number of things. And as I was writing this paragraph, I remembered that I forgot to set up the printer.

But the real news this week concerns Nancy who took 2 more steps toward recovery. We went to the Wellness Center on Tuesday and talked with a trainer about some of the exercises Nancy could do. Thursday morning she spent an hour with the trainer and began positive steps toward increasing her strength and coordination. And she drove to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday and to her stitcher get-together on Thursday by herself. That's a step toward greater independence. Both things brought smiles to our faces.
