Living Museum Project

Early this week, our granddaughter Margaret participated in a 2nd grade project called Living Museum. Students were allowed to pick an historically significant person and write a report about that person's life and accomplishments. Margaret chose Amelia Earhart.

The picture above shows the cover of Margaret's written report. Jenny sent us a video of Margaret presenting her report to her class. She talked about Amelia Earhart's childhood and several of her young adult accomplishments. And concluded with a statement that Miss Earhart helped people around the world understand that a women can do anything she sets her mind to do. She spoke for about a minute and a half and peaked at her written report only once. After that she asked her teacher to take a "formal" picture of her as Amelia Earhart. Too cute not to post.

At this point I want to give a shout-out to Vestavia Hills Elementary second grade teacher Miss Elizabeth Carr. That lady has some innovative teaching techniques. I'm very happy that our granddaughter is spending this year with her.

Finally, today is our daughter-in-law Jenny's birthday. So we want to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and thank her for sending us lots of pictures and videos of our Birmingham grandchildren, including these.
