A Florida Beach Sunset

While we were in the Florida panhandle a couple weeks ago, a tropical storm moved through the area leaving the sky filled with clouds and creating some awesome sunsets. I swear we took a hundred pictures. Here's just one of them. Never fear though. The rain stayed away long enough to give the beach lovers plenty of time on the sand. However, the ocean was marked with 1 or 2 red flags (unsafe for swimmers) the entire time we were there, so nobody spent very much time in the water.

Last Saturday, our grandson John Michael was scheduled to play in a tennis tournament in nearby Decatur, Alabama. Jenny drove to Huntsville with John Michael and Margaret the night before and took John Michael to Decatur early the next morning for his first match, which he won. We drove over for his second match. In that match he lost the first set, but didn't get down and came back to win the second set and the tie-breaker. He played again on Sunday and ended up taking home the 2nd place trophy. Jenny drove back to Birmingham with John Michael that afternoon, leaving Margaret here for her annual visit to "Camp Grandma and Paw Paw". You can't see it, but those words are on Margaret's shirt in the picture.

Oh, yes. Grandma and Paw Paw and Margaret had a great time. Shopping. Baking a birthday cake for her Aunt Melissa. T-shirt designing. Space Center fireworks from TBE's back yard. And a visit to the butterflies and the dinosaurs in Huntsville's Botanical Garden. On Thursday we drove to Locust Fork (a small town in Alabama) where we met Jenny and exchanged Margaret for a hug, a thank you, and a goodbye. However, before we left Huntsville, we posed for a picture on the front steps to our home.

And July 4th was our daughter Melissa's birthday, which we celebrated on Skype. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Melissa.
