Celebrating in Florida

Late last year our son Mark asked how we would like to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We answered with 2 stipulations. First, we wanted the whole family to be together. Second, not at our house in Huntsville! The actual date is in September, but the only time everybody could get together was in the middle of the summer. We settled on last weekend and picked Watercolor in Florida as the place.

So a week ago Wednesday, Nancy and I drove to Florida's panhandle, and readied our rented house in Watercolor for the arrival of our family. Melissa and her family along with friend Chris and his son Noa flew into Panama City and drove to Watercolor arriving around 10 PM on Thursday. Mark and his family arrived Friday evening. The official celebration took place at the Fish Out of Water Saturday evening.

Mark had to return to Birmingham on Sunday, but before he left we got everyone together and took this picture. On my left is Melissa with her kids Savannah and Ian. On my right, along with Nancy, is Mark with his wife Jenny and their kids Jackson, John Michael, and Margaret. Melissa et al stayed in Watercolor until Tuesday when they drove back to the airport in Panama City and flew back to Mesa, Arizona. We returned to Huntsville on Wednesday.

So, you're asking, what about Albus Dumbledore photo bombing our picture? Of course, that was deliberate. Ian and I actually watched 4 (maybe 5) of the Harry Potter movies over the weekend. It was the 20th anniversary of the beginning of that series, and one of the TV networks was running a Harry Potter marathon. Don't laugh. I agreed with Ian that it was too hot and humid to go outside.

Aside: I have many more nice pictures, some of which I plan to post at another time.
