A Christmas Adventure

On one of the days leading up to Christmas we got a phone call from our friends Marty and Corinne. They're on the left in the picture above. They asked if we would be interested in an "adventure" to take place on Monday, the day after Christmas. Casual dress. Be ready at 7 PM. No other details. We, of course, said yes. At the designated hour a limo pulled up in front of our house and Marty got out inviting us to join the fun. Only Marty, Corinne, and the limo driver knew the details of the adventure. Even Corinne's daughter Jamie, third from the left, was given no additional information.

We drove out of our neighborhood and eventually arrived at the Huntsville Botanical Garden for a drive-through tour of their Galaxy of Lights. Nancy and I had not experienced that display in a decade or more. It was very nice. After that we drove to Landry's for dessert and a picture and then back home. Certainly a Christmas adventure.

On a different note, the temperature in Huntsville this morning was 15 degrees; but no snow. All the snow in Alabama was south of us. Nancy's in Birmingham right now and is iced in the house. She's there helping our daughter-in-law Jenny who is recovering from yesterday's surgery. I can imagine that town is pretty much shut down. Things should clear up by tomorrow however. I can't say the same for places further to the east and north.
