Margaret's Marvelous Emoji Market

Several times a year, Vestavia Hills Elementary's second grade teachers spend time teaching the students how to be good capitalist consumers. [Note: my words!] Early in the school year, students apply and provide supporting references for various jobs in the classroom for which each is paid in something like Monopoly money. They save up their "money" to be ready for Market Days. In addition to wanting to buy things sold by other students during Market Days, they had to pay for advertising and other things like "utility bills".

Our youngest grandchild Margaret is in second grade. She applied for 2 positions, class artist and class messenger, and was selected to the artist position. I don't exactly know what she had to do to earn her money, but she had around $200 to prepare for this Market Day, which was yesterday. She decided to sell emoji tattoos. I assume they were not permanent. To prepare she made a commercial to be shown to the second grade during snack time. If you click on the picture above, you can see that commercial. She also made the poster you see above. Margaret, I am told, had a great time being a retailer and a consumer.
