Margaret is 8

Our youngest grandchild Margaret celebrated her 8th birthday on Tuesday, Valentine's Day. However, her party was last Sunday, and Nancy and I drove to Birmingham to join in the celebration. Her party was at "Do It Yourself Crafts" where the kids painted bowls, plates, cups, etc. that were placed (later) in a kiln to dry and become precious souvenirs. It was fun for everyone.

I also want to give a shout out to our oldest grandchild Savannah who this week received a notice that she had been placed on the "Dean's List with Distinction" at the University of Arizona. We're proud of her extra effort in achieving that accolade. That's not Savannah's picture!

This past Wednesday was a special day. Nancy and I met in a single's nightclub called Belmont Gardens in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, exactly 50 years ago on Wednesday. A mutual friend introduced us. I was there, having just returned from 10 days in New Orleans, with my best friend, and Nancy was there to meet a guy who was supposed to drive in from Pittsburgh. Heavy snow kept him away. The rest is history. This picture of Nancy was taken in March, 1967.
