Early this morning we drove to Point Mallard Park in Decatur to attend the opening match of the Alabama Junior State Championships Halloween Festival featuring our grandson John Michael (11). We enjoyed watching him win his first match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. His second match is early this afternoon, and then he has a doubles match even later today. The tournament concludes tomorrow afternoon. I snapped this picture just as John Michael was preparing to serve.
Last night Nancy and I attended the first concert of the Huntsville Chamber Music Guild's 2016-2017 season. We enjoyed the Ariel Quartet's renditions of Mozart and Beethoven string quartets. Not so much the Shostakovich piece. Also, the four players didn't want to interact with the audience at all. They just walked onto the stage, pretty much without a smile, and played. It could have been more enjoyable.
In case you're wondering why nothing was posted last weekend, I completely forgot about it. I played in a bridge tournament all day Friday through Sunday. Did well, but never gave a moment's thought to posting a new web page.
