Last Monday our oldest grandson turned 17. Our daughter, Ian's mom, gave us this picture at Christmas. Ian is a junior in high school in Mesa, Arizona. He's on the football team and does very, very well in his AP classes, especially engineering, physics, and math. And he's at that time in his life that he's thinking about college. His wide ranging list includes schools from Texas to California. So HAPPY BIRHDAY, Ian, and best wishes from Grandma and Grandpa.
Last Sunday was also my sister Barbara's birthday. She lives with her husband Rafik in Tunisia and has 4 daughters who are pretty much scattered all over the world. The latest picture I have of Barb was taken while she was holding 6-week old John Michael who will be 11 in May. Nancy and I want to wish her a wonderful birthday with many more to come.
On Tuesday I had my annual physical. According to the doctor, I'm in good shape "for my age". Not sure what that means. But I did come away with a cold virus. That kind of stuff just sits around waiting for me to show up. Now I have to stay away from everybody so I'm part of the solution and not part of the problem.
