What to do with...

...old license plates? Alabama required that new tags be issued to everyone this year. So last Tuesday I drove to the licensing place just a few miles from here and picked up our new tags. I got to wondering what to do with the old ones, so I searched the internet for some suggestions. Turns out, the old ones can be dropped off in a recycling bin right there where I picked up the new tags. We gathered up a bunch of old plates lying around the garage, and I plan to drop them off the next time I'm headed that direction.

Yes it was a another slow week for interesting pictures. Not all those plates belonged to us. Our plates all begin with the numbers "47" designating the county we live in; Madison County. Plates beginning with "1" are for Jefferson County where Mark lives. So 15 years ago Mark figured out how to dispose of his plates! Those Birmingham Southern College (BSC) plates belonged to us. To get those tags, we contributed an extra $50 to the college while Mark was an undergraduate there.

Last night we attended a concert by the Canadian Brass quintet. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire event. Two interesting notes: apparently not everyone is from Canada. One of their 2 trumpet players holds the principal trumpet chair in our own Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. And the trombone player, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, is probably not Canadian. But then good music tends to not know about borders.
