New Car

The top picture shows the interior of our 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. We traded it in for the vehicle in the second picture. It's pretty easy to see why we wanted to trade. No, it wasn't because the car was almost out of gas! It was the combination of being almost 10 years old and over 100,000 miles that did it. It served us well since 05. Lots of trips to PA, MI, and AZ and through many other states on the way.

I saw the Ford Escape pictured above in the showroom a couple weeks ago and talked Nancy into having a look for herself. We drove 5 or 6 other cars and visited 8 other dealers before deciding on this one. The Ford dealer didn't have one on the lot that was exactly what we wanted. They told us the nearest one was at a dealership in South Carolina, but it would only take 1 day to get it here. So we did all the paperwork. Then we looked more closely at the one on the floor. The only difference was the larger engine and the interior color (charcoal) in the floor model. Nancy went outside, found an Escape with the lighter interior color, and decided charcoal was OK after all. And I didn't mind the more powerful engine (understatement). So we bought the showroom floor model above last Friday. Saturday we drove to Birmingham on the back roads and the interstate. So far, so good.
