Last Wednesday (6/12 actually) we began what is normally a 2-day drive to Pennsylvania. However, since severe weather was expected throughout most of Virginia and Pennsylvania on Thursday, we spent 2 nights in Christiansburg, VA, and drove the second half of our trip under clear skies on Friday. We remained in PA, visiting Nancy's Mom and Aunt Nina, until this past Wednesday. The 2-day trip back was uneventful.
Nancy's Mom Mary is living in a very nice nursing home in Hollidaysburg, PA, which is about 10 or so miles from her home town, Gallitzin. Last Sunday I arranged for her to "visit" with Mark, Jenny, and the kids in Birmingham using Skype. She really enjoyed that, and everyone took the opportunity to wish Mark and me a Happy Father's Day. Nancy took this picture just before we left to come home.
When we got home, Nancy couldn't wait to see how well her blueberries had done during our absence. As you can see, she's quite pleased. Yesterday morning, we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Yum, yum! It won't be long before we have enough for Nancy to make one of her famous blueberry pies. I can't wait.
Speaking of Mark, he turned 40 on Tuesday. Hard to believe, but true. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mark.
