Our granddaughter Savannah is on her way back home...Mesa, Arizona. We packed up yesterday and drove to Birmingham so Savannah could have another day with her cousin Margaret. This morning we said goodbye to Savannah at the Birmingham airport, and then Nancy and I returned to Huntsville.
We had a very enjoyable visit with Savannah during this past week. She and Nancy shopped until they dropped to the point that Savannah needed a second suitcase for her return trip. We celebrated her upcoming birthday 3 or 4 times including an embarrassing and surprising moment at Logan's Steakhouse. Wednesday Savannah spent the entire morning at EyeCare Associates following one of the doctors around and asking lots of questions about becoming an optometrist someday. Her future looks bright if she can just get through this last year of high school.
We took this picture Thursday morning. I didn't get the message about the uniform of the day. She's home now, and we hope she can find time for another visit in the future.
