We decided to plant one BLT tomato plant this year. Nancy generally plants only grape tomatoes each year, but this year we potted a BLT tomato plant. A BLT tomato plant grows tomatoes large enough to slice for a BLT sandwich and...one of our favorites, fried green tomatoes. Of course she didn't want to take away space from her grape tomatoes for a BLT plant, so she potted it.

Now, everyone knows how much she hates to share her tomatoes and peppers with the squirrels and the chipmunks. About the only thing she hasn't tried is a BB gun! For the BLT plant she tied a fine net around the base of the plant and put the pot on the table on our patio. There are lots of baby green BLT worthy tomatoes on the plant and so far, so good. We've been eating and giving away grape tomatoes for the last 2 months.

Those of you who know Nancy really well may have noticed something in this picture. A couple of weeks ago she reached her Weight Watcher goal. Yeah! Lookin' good, huh?
