The "Golden Girls" (sisters) are pictured above with Nancy: Aunt Nina on the left, Nancy's Mom in the middle, Aunt Jo on the right. I took this picture in August 2008. It's never been easy to get the 4 of them together, but on that day, everyone was visiting in Gallitzin, in good spirits, and dressed to the nines for church.
Nancy's Aunt Jo died this past Wednesday morning. She was 92 years old and lived on her own right up to the end. Visitation was yesterday, and her funeral was this morning. We always remember Aunt Jo because no matter when we visited, she always served her famous gob cake. Nancy, needless to say, has many fond memories of her Aunt Jo dating back to her earliest childhood. She will be missed by all of us.
Although the circumstances were not the best, it was nice to reacquaint ourselves with all of Nancy's cousins and their families.
