I always say, when it comes to kids, there're only 3 milestones: they're born, they're potty trained, they move out! However, even I have to admit there are a couple of intermediate milestones that should be celebrated albeit not to the extent one celebrates the major 3 mentioned above. One of those established intermediate milestones is the transition from being a "pre-teen" to actually being a teenager.

On Wednesday our oldest grandson, Ian, turned 13. We couldn't be in Mesa, Arizona, to celebrate his birthday with him, so I asked Melissa to take a picture and email it to us. She did just that. I added a few balloons. And Voilá...
