Last Saturday Nancy and I drove to Birmingham to catch one of John Michael's T-ball games. This is his first at-bat in the game. Good form. Left foot up. Bat in good position. Tongue out. Eye on the ball. All in all, not bad for a 5-year-old. Roll your mouse over the picture to see the result.

The ball hasn't moved, but he sure did beat the crap out of that tee. I was too far away from the action (telephoto lens) to hear if he called "Strike One" on himself, but he did hit the ball, and not the tee, on his second swing.

Today we're off to Cullman, Alabama, for St. Bernard Abbey's 27th annual Bloomin' Festival. It's a rather large flea market operated each year to raise money for their prep school. We also plan to enjoy dinner at All Steak, a popular restaurant in Cullman.
