3D Television

Mark and Jenny stopped by yesterday on their way to Gorham's Bluff where they planned to enjoy the scenery, eat good food, and spend an evening without the kids. The boys, Jackson (8) and John Michael (5), had two things on their minds after their parents drove off. First, get out of their traveling clothes. And then check out a 3D movie on our new television. The technology is pretty fascinating. The TV creates two overlapping pictures, one right after the other, and the electronic glasses flip between the viewer's eyes in sync with the TV. The right eye sees one picture and the left eye sees the other. And since the two pictures are offset, the viewer sees and 3D image. If you look closely at the glasses in the picture above, you can see that at the moment I took the picture, their right eyes were blocked and their left eyes were open to the picture. Margaret wasn't all the interested.
