I'm a day late; it's actually 10/10/10. Nancy and I packed up early this morning and drove to Birmingham to visit Mark, Jenny, Jackson, John Michael, and Margaret. It was not a coincidence that John Michael (age 5) had a soccer game this afternoon. I brought a telephoto lens to catch some good pictures. John Michael scored a goal, but the photographer didn't get a very good picture of that effort. But I did get him closing in on the ball at full speed.

This was another week of doing many things around the house. I selected aluminum columns to replace those on our front porch. They'll be installed in a couple weeks. We upgraded our home security system; not a trivial step as it turned out. The technician spent almost 5 hours installing the equipment. We also started cleaning and painting our fence.
