Fall Sports

Last Sunday Nancy and I drove to Birmingham for a visit with Mark, Jenny, Jackson, John Michael, and Margaret. We stayed overnight, so we got an opportunity to enjoy a Jenny creation for dinner, some play time with the boys in their Halloween costumes, some quality moments with baby Margaret, and a Fall baseball game starring our grandson Jackson. I took the pictures above during pre-game warm ups. Still to be answered, does he play like his Dad or his Paw Paw? Well, regardless, he is having fun.

Last Saturday evening we attended a concert on UAH campus with my guitar instructor, Phil Weaver, showing off his skill on the classical guitar. He performed with a former student, Emily Jones, calling their duo Zapatos Perdidos. We really enjoyed that performance. A couple of the pieces were so nice that I ordered the sheet music for myself first thing Monday. We capped this week of classical music with a performance last night by the Stradivari String Quartet as part of the Huntsville Chamber Music Guild series.

When I checked email this morning, I found a picture of our Arizona grandson Ian in his football uniform. Does he look like a linebacker and a fullback? You bet. He's having a good year all around with success on the football field and in the classroom.

Life is good.
