Karl McKechnie

In 1977 Karl McKechnie, the shorter guy in the picture above, hired me into Teledyne Brown Engineering, where I worked until my retirement 30 years later. Several years after being hired and after I successfully finished an Eglin AF Base project, Karl asked me if I was interested in a management position. I said yes, and in the early 80s, Karl promoted me to Branch Manager. Later I became an Assistant Program Manager. Then a Program Manager. Then a Director and still later I was put in charge of the company's largest program. And eventually I moved into a VP position. But it all started 32 years ago when Karl McKechnie brought me into his Radar Department. Karl died this past week, and later today Nancy and I will be visiting him, and thanking him, one last time.
