Alabama Insects

On Wednesday Mark dropped his boys off in Huntsville for a 4-day visit. After a good night's sleep, we all went to the Huntsville Botanical Garden where, we were told, there were some rather large bugs on the loose. The boys, Jackson and John Michael, posed next to a fly, of sorts, at the entrance to the garden. After that we walked all around the area searching out those illusive critters. Then we had a picnic lunch in the 75 degree weather and returned home. So what insects did we see? Clockwise from the spider are a praying mantis, a damselfly, a dragonfly, an assassin bug, a grasshopper, and an ant. That ant is probably 20 feet from front to back.

On a different note: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to our daughter Melissa and our son-in-law Treacey who, yesterday, marked their 16th year together. Congratulations, you guys!
