A Birthday and Visitors from Michigan

Last Sunday, Jan 25, was our oldest grandson's 10th birthday, and Ian invited 32 kids to his party, which is planned for today. So what to do with 32 kids? How about a fancy game system? Ian had been talking about saving his birthday money for an XBOX 360, so when he got home from school on Thursday, Melissa asked him if he still wanted to spend his birthday money on that game.  He said yes. So his Mom and Dad told him they'd get one and pay the difference.  Thus Ian ended up with a very nice Birthday present. I'd love to be at Ian's party to see 32 kids crowded around the TV trying to outdo each other at this game. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Ian!

Now if you ask Ian what his best birthday present was, you just might be surprised. You could guess correctly if you recall that Ian lives in Arizona and is a big football fan. Yep! His best present is the Cardinals playing for the first time ever in the Super Bowl.

Sunday evening, Nancy's sister Elaine and husband Karl arrived in Huntsville from their home in Michigan. They plan to spend a whole month in the South; an escape from the cold and snow of their home town. Example: on Tuesday, while we had a high of 60 degrees, the day in northern Michigan started off at -17 degrees. We've enjoyed having them all this week. We watched a couple movies, did a little shopping, and played Hearts. No, they're only spending the first week of their 4-week sojourn through the South in Huntsville.
