Eleven years ago, on July 25th, we got a phone call from Mesa, Arizona, telling us that our first grandchild had blossomed onto the family tree. It really doesn't seem like 11 years, but here she is 11 years later.

Melissa sent this picture and tells us that Savannah's birthday cake is made from scratch and is chocolate with her famous cookies and cream filling. To quote her "The booger picker on the cake is...Ralph Wiggum, a character from the Simpsons. He always has really funny quotes. I sorta stole one of the quotes for her cake. He says 'Me fail English? That’s Un-Possible' and I changed it to what you see on the cake". The Wiggum character is actually handmade from chocolate! Nice job, Melissa!!

Savannah enjoyed a slumber party last night with three of her girlfriends after going out for dinner (Chili’s – Savannah’s pick) and to see the Simpsons Movie. A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Savannah with lots of love from her Alabama Grandma and Grandpa.
